The Fiery Cross was the ancient Highland signal calling the clan to gather. Two burning sticks were tied with a strip of linen dipped in blood and carried across the glens by swift runners. Today, our our signal is this website. It allows our Commander, Richard Holman Baird of Rickarton to reach the clan when needed, and for that purpose we seek to know where our Bairds are throughout the world.

​We welcome all branches and spellings of the name, including Naesmyth, Bard, Beard, Bearden, Beaird, Barr, MacWard, Ward, Bayard, Bayrd, Beird, Bardes, and the many variations that emerged across the centuries and throughout the Diaspora.  Our aim is to bring our family back together from the great Diaspora of our Kith and Kin.
