CLAN BAIRD Family Gatherings
Clan and Society Trips
The Clan Baird Society Worldwide Anniversary Gathering is in Scotland, August 4 - 6, 2023
These are exciting times for Clan Baird. The society is celebrating its 50th anniversary and we are doing it both in the USA and Scotland! We are still in the planning stages for this event, but we would love to see all of you at Grandfather Mountain (where the Society was formed in 1972), to kick off our celebrations, July 7-10, 2022, and then end the celebrations in Aboyne, Scotland, summer 2023. We are hoping for a very large Clan Baird turn out. If you have ever wanted to go to either Grandfather Festival and/or Scotland, we greatly encourage you to start planning your trips now.
If you want to travel before then, we will be hosting a tent at the Aboyne Games
in August 2022.
Summer 2022
July 7-10, 2022 Grandfather Mountain Highland Games is where we start our Jubilee Celebration kick-off. It is very important to make your reservations as soon as possible there. Hotels and rentals fill up very fast. We will begin on the mountain on Thursday evening for the calling of the clans and will have light refreshments in the Clan Baird tent for all. We will also be hosting Richard’s installation ceremony as Commander and President of the Society on Saturday, July 9th, at 2:00 PM. Clan Baird will be a distinguished clan for the 2022 Grandfather Mountain Games, and we are so excited about that honour.
August 5, 2022 We are planning to meet at the Aboyne Highland Games, and the Baird tent near the beautiful village of Aboyne, Scotland. The trip will be an individual Baird adventure. Each family will set up their travel plans. There are two set events for this trip. July 29th, we will be meeting with the community of New Aberdour, on the Old Auchmedden Estate, to discuss our plans for a Clan Baird Society Centre. Then we will converge on Aboyne, Scotland for our meetings and the Aboyne Highland Games from August 4-7. We will be planning the 2023 trip during these meetings.
